The Glendale Preces & Responses were written in 2022 for the Parish Choir of Christ Church Glendale, where the composer is Music Director and Organist. They are scored for straight SATB mixed chorus, with only a handful of divisi notes. This is a very straightforward and approachable setting for choir and director alike. The rhythms are easy to read and harmonies are made to be quickly heard. Vocal ranges are kept out of extremes, for comfortable singing. While this setting is not very challenging, it is still musically fulfilling for all.
