Earth and All Stars

This descant takes advantage of the hymn tune for the first half before splitting off into a soaring soprano part in the second half. Technically, only the final five measures are new notes for the descant, so this is easily learned by your soprano section on Sunday morning. The organ re-harmonization adds new flavors after five verses of the same thing, and a maestoso tempo allows it all to be savored a bit more. A percussion part is available with this (free of charge) for finger cymbals, tambourine, suspended cymbal, timpani (1), and windchimes--playable by one person, to bring the interesting text a bit more to life.
